Alzheimer Quilt

In my parents' retirement-home there is also a station for Alzheimer-patients. We talked about fidget-blankets for these patients. After that talk I made one, some ladies who live in the home gave me buttons and old keys.

Details

The quilt is small, only 20 x 26 inch. The people should be able to hold the quilt on their lap or on a table.
For the batting I used cotton, the backing is a soft flanell.

This time I sewed the binding on the backing and then by machine to the front. Usually I sew on the front and sew it to the back by hand. But if the patients 'use' the quilt very much, the handsewing might not hold.

Thank you! Actually, I hope so. We'll see how the patients will react to it.

This is fabulous. My mom had Alzheimer's for 15 years and now my sister works with families to help find the right environment for folks ready for more care. Thank you so much for sharing!
